Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about trash can cleaning and pressure washing with Wahoo Washing.
Trash Can Cleaning
How much does trash can cleaning cost?
Trash can cleaning costs $25 per can, per month. Recycling cans are the same price, so a household with one trash can and one recycling can pays $50/month total. You're billed automatically to the card you keep on file.
Is trash bin cleaning the same as trash can cleaning?
Yes. Trash can, trash bin, and garbage can all refer to the same thing, just different regional words for it. We clean your household trash and recycling cans (or bins) on the same monthly schedule no matter what you call them.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
Yes. Membership runs on a 12-month minimum term, billed monthly. After your first 12 months, you can continue month-to-month or cancel. This keeps cleaning consistent and keeps pricing low.
How often do you clean my trash cans?
We clean once per month, on a set day assigned to your neighborhood's route. You'll receive your specific cleaning day after you sign up.
Do I need to be home for the cleaning?
No. Simply leave your trash and/or recycling cans at the curb on your scheduled cleaning day, and our crew cleans them on-site. No need for you to be home.
What cleaning method do you use?
We use a professional-grade power washer with high-pressure water and a cleaning solution to scrub each can inside and out, curbside.
Can I cancel my membership?
Membership includes a 12-month minimum term billed monthly. After your first year, you're free to cancel or continue. If you have a special circumstance before then, contact us directly and we'll work with you.
Do you serve rental properties, HOAs, or Airbnbs?
Yes. Landlords, property managers, HOAs, and short-term rental hosts throughout Chatham County are all welcome to sign up, and we can bill a single account for multiple properties.
What if my can isn't out at the curb on my cleaning day?
If your can isn't out by your scheduled cleaning time, we'll get it on the next month's visit. Text or email us if you need to reschedule.
What if my can has a lock or a strap on it?
Just make sure it's unlocked and unstrapped on your cleaning day so our crew can access it. A locked can gets skipped until the next visit.
Do you clean commercial dumpsters, or only residential cans?
We currently focus on residential trash and recycling cans. If you have a commercial property with dumpster needs, reach out and we'll let you know if we can help.
Can I pause service instead of canceling?
Yes. Contact us and we can pause your membership for things like an extended vacation, then pick back up when you're ready.
What actually happens during a cleaning?
Our crew cleans your can curbside with high-pressure water, scrubbing the interior walls, floor, and lid, then moves on to the next stop on the route.
Where does the dirty water go?
Right now we clean with a standard power washer, so rinse water drains at the curb like any other outdoor cleaning job.
Can cleaning help with ants or roaches near my can?
A cleaner can removes the food residue and buildup that attracts pests in the first place, so regular cleaning can make your can less appealing to ants and roaches.
Does a clean can actually help with HOA curb-appeal rules?
Many HOAs have rules about visible grime or odor from trash cans. Keeping cans clean on a regular schedule is a simple way to stay ahead of those requirements.
Why do trash cans smell so bad in Savannah?
Savannah's heat and humidity speed up bacteria growth in whatever residue is left in a can, which is why smells build up faster here than in cooler, drier climates.
How often should trash cans actually be cleaned?
Once a month is a realistic baseline for most households, especially in Savannah's climate. That's why our membership is built around a monthly cleaning schedule.
Does cleaning get rid of maggots and flies for good?
Cleaning removes what's attracting them at the time, but new food waste sitting in a can between pickups can bring the problem back. Staying on a monthly cleaning schedule keeps it from building up again.
Is professional trash can cleaning actually worth it over doing it myself?
A garden hose rinses the surface, but it doesn't reach the residue that builds up inside a can or match the high-pressure cleaning we do. Read the full breakdown →
Pressure Washing
How much does pressure washing cost?
Pressure washing pricing depends on the size and type of surface being cleaned. Request a free on-site or virtual quote and we'll provide an exact price before any work begins.
Is pressure washing the same as power washing?
Most people use the two terms interchangeably, and they usually mean the same service. Technically, power washing adds heated water to the pressure, while pressure washing uses unheated water. Either way, we pick the method that fits your surface when we quote the job.
What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?
Pressure washing uses high water pressure to blast dirt off hard surfaces like driveways and concrete. Soft washing uses lower pressure and a cleaning solution to safely remove mold and algae from more delicate surfaces like siding and roofs. Read the full breakdown →
Is pressure washing bad for house siding or paint?
High pressure can damage siding, strip paint, and force water where it shouldn't go, which is why we use soft washing on those surfaces instead. Read more about what pressure washing can and can't safely clean →
Is Savannah's humidity why algae and mildew grow so fast on homes here?
Yes. Coastal humidity keeps surfaces damp longer, and pollen and organic debris give algae something to feed on. See why Savannah homes need exterior cleaning more often →
Do you offer recurring pressure washing?
Yes, many customers schedule seasonal or twice-yearly visits to stay ahead of Chatham County's mold and pollen buildup.
How long does a typical job take?
It depends on the size and scope of the project. We'll give you a time estimate along with your free quote before any work begins.
How soon can I walk or drive on a driveway after cleaning?
Most surfaces are safe to walk on shortly after cleaning, though we'll let you know if a specific project needs extra drying time before regular use.
Do I need to be home for an appointment?
Not necessarily, as long as we have access to the areas being cleaned. We'll confirm what's needed when we schedule your appointment.
How is pricing determined?
Pressure washing pricing depends on the size and type of surface being cleaned. Request a free quote and we'll give you an exact price before starting.
Is soft washing safe for landscaping, grass, and pets?
We take care to protect landscaping during soft washing, and steer clear of nearby plants and grass. Keep pets away from the work area while we clean.
What's in the cleaning solution used for soft washing?
We use a professional-grade cleaning solution formulated to break down mold, algae, and mildew without needing high pressure. Exact formulations vary by job and surface type.
